HCS Technology Group requires a minimal data backup policy be in place for all of its clients. The purpose of the minimal backup policy of HCS Technology Group is to define the need for performing periodic computer system backups to ensure that critical data and archives are adequately preserved and protected against data loss and destruction.
Data can be destroyed by system malfunction, accidental or intentional means. Adequate backups will allow data to be readily recovered as necessary. The ongoing availability of data is critical to the operation of your business. In order to minimize any potential loss or corruption of this data, clients are responsible for having a backup system in place that ensures that data is adequately backed up by establishing and following an appropriate system backup procedure.
MINIMAL BACKUP POLICY
The minimal backup policy stipulates the following:
- One full back up per week
- One Incremental or differential per week
- Rotate a Backup Tape Set off-site once per week
- Rotate at least One Backup Tape set on a scheduled day to day or weekly backup
- When Recycling tapes:
- If it’s a set of tapes that are recycled every week, the sets should be replaced after 6 months of use
- If a set a tapes are used and archived, the recycling period of the set should not exceed more than 2 times. After 3 Years, the tapes should Be replaced
- Archive: Minimally, 1 year from date of archive
HCS Technology Group is in no way liable for loss of client data. Under no circumstances will HCS Technology Group be held accountable for any loss of client data. By not taking the recommendations of HCS Technology Group with regard to the implementation of a backup system for your data, you, the client acknowledge that you forfeit the right to hold HCS Technology Group accountable for any and all technical errors, including loss of user files (client data.)
HCS Technology Group is not responsible for circumstances beyond its control, including without limitation, actions of third parties, force majeure, Acts of God, natural disasters, or similar circumstances. Further, HCS Technology Group does not provide any warranties with respect to its services, and specifically disclaims any warranty of merchantability or suitability for particular purposes.
You agree to indemnify and hold HCS Technology Group harmless from and against any and all claims, costs, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including, without limitation, attorneys’ fees and costs) resulting from or in connection with your not using an HCS Technology Group recommended backup system.
If you do not implement an HCS Technology Group back up system, you acknowledge the above mentioned terms and acknowledge that HCS Technology Group is in no way guaranteeing the integrity and/or security of your files.
